THE GENESIS OF
Lily was once
Eight years ago, before I left for Canada, a significant moment occurred: I wanted to remain connected with my nephew Théo and my niece Laly, despite the distance between us.
That’s when the idea was born: to create a special light that Théo and Laly would turn on each morning and off each evening, a luminous bond that would unite us every day. These extraordinary fabrics deserved to be as unique as Théo and Laly are to me. So, I chose to embellish them with beads, sequins, pom-poms, and glitter, bringing fairy-tale characters to life.
This is how Lily once upon a time was born, with a deep mission: to create unique, colorful objects that reconnect us with invisible worlds, captivating our imagination and soul.
Over the years, the idea evolved, and I found the courage to leave my job in Human Resources to turnLily était une foisinto my full-time profession.
Today, each day is dedicated to the art of illuminating the world with love, glitter, and all our colors through unique luminous creations, each carrying the power of an inspiring story... every morning and turn off every evening, a luminous bond that would unite us

Each light fixture at Lily était une fois is a unique piece, because our mission is to inspire each individual to express their own essence! We believe in the value of diversity and authenticity, which is why we are committed to ensuring that each of our creations reflects this uniqueness.
Each light fixture is a luminous work of art designed to illuminate your interior with originality and wonder.
In our manufacturing process, we make sure to integrate various methods that guarantee the originality of each piece. First, on the materials side, we combine local finds with elements from explored distant lands. Some of the materials used even come from recycled objects, jewelry and clothing, thus giving them a second life. This gesture is not only an eco-responsible approach, but it also allows our customers to breathe memories into their personalized creations, making them even more precious and unique.
