I imagined these night lights as microcosms sheltering our guardian angels: totem animals. Since they appear in our lives to accompany us, why not offer them a magical sanctuary? These imaginary gardens are made from new or recycled beads, sequins, glitter and glitters... This imaginary garden rests on a resin floor that gently diffuses the LED light from the base. The light changes color as it passes and makes the glitter contained in the resin sparkle, the magic happens.
The night lights take shape in glass jars carefully found in thrift stores. These jars, which are not in their first life, are transformed into protectors for the sanctuary of my totem animals. Just like us, they bear the marks of the past, witnesses of a time when we picked candies or pickles from them.
I consider my Art as a door, a portal to invisible worlds: magic, energies, the spirits of Nature, the power of colors, and the dialogue with our inner child, all these guides present in our lives. These night lights are my tribute to these guides that we call totem animals.
Animal totems are spirit guides that come to us with messages of strength, wisdom, and inspiration. They appear in a thousand ways: through recurring dreams, synchronicities, or an inexplicable attraction to a particular animal. Each totem carries a unique meaning, reminding us of essential lessons and hidden strengths within ourselves.
The hippopotamus symbolizes buried power and emotional expression. It teaches us to be true to our emotions while remaining grounded. The hippopotamus reminds us to stay in touch with our emotions while finding a balance between our inner and outer worlds. This totem teaches us self-confidence and emotional stability, while encouraging the honest expression of our feelings.
